body modifications
November 6, 2009Piercing,tattoos love em'! have you had any work done?Or do you have any plans on getting stuff done? i know i do :) feel free to share. it's always nice to hear other people's ideas and thoughts. And also i give a thumbs down to certain tattoo shows on tv
The very first piercing i did (ears not included since i had my ears pierced in 6th grade) was a nipple piercing, dirty i know :D i was still living at home at that time since i was only 16, so i had to get something that my parents would never notice haha. Let's just say that they are not big fans of any type of body modification. I did however get 5 more rings in my ears while i still lived at home, cause' that was the only thing that didn't bother them. Then at 19 i moved out and moved to the other end of the country and i got my first tattoo, it's just a small guns n' roses tattoo on my ankle, but i knew from the moment that needle hit my skin that this was something i would do again :D After that i had my nose, tongue, eyebrow and lip pierced and i also had an industrial done, for those of you that might not now what that is, it's an upper ear piercing where you place a straight barbell through 2 pierced holes. My eyebrow didn't do so well after slamming my head against a wall i had to take it out cause' it never really healed, so i had my navel pierced instead and well, not a good idea, i had a little accident at a slipknot show actually, in denmark, where i was standing in front row, jumping up and down while the jewelry kept slamming against the fence, so let's just say that there wasn't a lot of jewelry left after the show, so i took it out.
I also have a leopard tattoo on my left arm, i had that done about a year ago, just because i fucking love leopard print, so what better way to honor the animal that provides that fantastic pattern :P and the most recent one, is the tattoo on my lower left arm, the one that says "chainsaw charlie" which is a song from what, in my opinion, is the best album i've ever heard, the crimson idol. And yes, blackie is kind of...weird and unpleasant (i've met him so i know he his) but i have absolutely no interest in him as a person and it doesn't change how i feel about that album. I don't know why but people sometimes laugh at me when i tell them that it's my favorite album of all times, but in my opinion it's perfectly executed.
back to the subject of tattos and piercing, i hope that i'll win the lottery (even though i never play haha) or something so that i can get started on my full sleeve tattoos. I want them so bad! i've wanted them for so long, but if you ain't got the cash, there's nothing you can do about it. It sucks how expensive tattoos have gotten the last couple of years since it's gotten popular the get a tattoo thanks to certain shows on tv, THANKS A LOT! haha, no but seriously those shows aren't all bad, it's nice that tattoos are becomming more socially acceptable, but sometimes when watching those shows i just feel like, cut the crap people! there doesn't have to be a 20 min story behind every tattoo you get, "my dads friends brother had a hamster and when it died i just felt like i had to preserve memory of that yellow fur ball by getting a tattoo" oh shut uuup! maybe i'm being insensitive. but i'm getting tired of hearing the same stories over and over.
Anyways, thanks to the popularity of those shows, tattoo artists are now fucking over charging just because they can, at least they do over here, you wouldn't belive the prices at some studios. 4 years ago when i had my first tattoo done, i didn't have to wait more than 2 weeks for an appointment, now you might have to wait for up to a year, even if you're just getting something small done. So this whole popularity thing isn't all good. I still watch the damn shows, but i don't always like em' :D
It kind of sucks to that nothing feel original anymore, everyone's getting koi fish and cherry blossom done, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with those styles, i like em' a lot since they are very classic tattoos that can be done in many variations, and i'd have something like that done as well but tv has ruined it for me :P So i'm thinking, that on my right arm, which i've kept clean, i'm gonna do death as a theme, i'm talking like greek mythology with Hades and the river styx type of theme. If you steal my idea i'll kill you! haha, no i won't, it's a joke OK! :D i'm pretty sure i won't be the only one with that theme, but it's something that has stuck in my mind when i've been brainstorming for ideas. So now, all i need is that lottery win and it's all set. Or i could just save some money every month but it's so hard when you see those shiny new shoes in the store window, i'm just gonna start going straight home from work and stay there until i've managed to save enough to get started :)
I love that we have been given all this clean area of our bodies so that we can do whatever the hell we want with it. The best part is when people say that "oh but you might regret it, and what happens when you get old?" i always say that i won't matter how many tattoos i have when i get old, cause' with the way things are going now, everyone from this generation will have a tattoo so there will be no freaks when we get old :P
